Talking with a friend at IIT Delhi I happened to engage in the age old controversy today. “Which of IIT Bombay and Delhi is better?” A number of magazines have attempted to unravel the mystery time and again ending up with nothing but epithets like trash, shit, crap et cetera, especially amongst the “crème` de la crème`” of the nation :P:P
Putting all the time I have to some use I decided to analyse the case. In sync with the ongoing Googalization of the planet, I too resorted to Google for help with the never-ending debate.
Searching for “IIT Bombay” and “IIT Delhi” made Bombay win hands down (361,000 results to a dismal 162,000). :)
Enthused (read, with a lot more lukkha time at hand) I delved further for detailed ananlysis.
Results:
“IIT Bombay”, academics – “IIT Delhi”, academics: 79,000 - 41,000
"IIT Bombay", awards – “IIT Delhi”, awards: 84,500 - 37,600
"IIT Bombay", jobs – “IIT Delhi”, jobs: 54,000 - 49,700

The problem was with the search string you gave:

Searching for IITD jobs google told me "Did you mean IITB jobs" :P
IITB sucess - IITD success: 59,400 - 11,900
So add up the results and IITB tops in all departments. Its just that we prefer using the short form :)

IIT Bombay is terrible. After a few years there even the most charming person ends up becoming a total social-loser. I should know. I'm from there.
The old hostels are a pile of filth. (Lived there myself)
Most teachers (all except a precious few) are ego-maniacs, and sad humans.
Sigh. Tell me why the IITs are the premier institutions...?

you must be an Mtech student... never lived in a hostel b4? ever fully utilized the facilities? ever been to the sports grounds( show me better grounds than those in IITs) ... how much do u pay for all these facilities???

Lol. Comparing two things on google search results is bullshit. Trust me google will never show you those thousands of results & after a few pages the resuts are mostly crap.
Google for "Africans are dumb" and google will correct you "Americans are dumb" -- That's really fuuny. Now don't say Africans are really smarter than Americans. One more example : Google for "India sucks" (When I googled then the result was 3,740,000) & then Google for "Pakistan sucks" (953,000 results) -- I won't belive if u believe that India sucks more because the google results are more. So comparing two things on search results is extremely misleading. IITB & IITD , both are good instiutes as far as I know & just a few differences in some aspects does not make any of them absolutely better.
I think IITD is better than IITB Location wise(not in outskirt of city).... So, students got to have more fun over here.... than that slumy area of powai....!!!

Success is not in the population and quantity of google results but Quality and standard of facilities and fun..numbers dont always support it-you yourself should know since you are only the top .001 % cream population ..So lukkha desperate iitians are creating such stupid post as a self fulfilling prophecy to boost "quality" of their looser social lives...
